Single/Two-Phase Heat Transfer Laboratory

The 1-inch tube experimental setup for near horizontal measurements is equipped for measuring heat transfer, pressure drop, void fraction, and also conducting flow visualization in air-water flow at pipe inclinations from - 20° to + 20°.

The experimental setup has two test sections: isothermal section (left line) and heat transfer section (right line). The center line is a bypass line to be used when fluids are trapped in the isothermal section for void fraction measurements.

The experimental setup is held together by a steel frame which allows the test sections to be adjusted for 0° to ±90° orientation.
